My involvement with the event is minor. I provided the artwork used on the cover of the journal (see image, originally created for Clive Hollicks book "the battle of Benburb"). 
 
The front cover of the journal shows a study of 3 Gaelic soldiers from the Ulster Army during the 1640/50s. The back cover shows the Gaelic Cavalry of Owen Roe O'Neill routing the Scots Covenanter's at the battle of Benburb in 1646. Courtesy of Clive Hollick.

On the first day... I have decided to attempt a blog on my new Osprey book "battle of the Milvian bridge", inspired by my dear friend and volleyball compadré Joanna Mooney ( Huggie ). portrait of Fionn Brennan and his sons Well after a busy few months, with the completion of the last Osprey book, I've taken the opportunity to organise my studio, work up a few ideas and just catch up on the mundane necessities of modern life out. Its actually nice to take it easy for a few weeks, puttering around with ones own ideas and doing the normal things. But alas here in Ireland we have been buffeted all week with the tail end of the Atlantic's worst weather, so i didn't manage to benefit from our previous nice weather, i suppose its natures way of balancing the books weather-wise?
